Chapter 3 of Part One [Y aran Pentir] (not finished)

Chapter 3 –  Y aran Pentir

The supernatural can vary from anything and everything. Most people think about premonition, witchcraft and wizardry. To Ealda they have every right to; she is terrified to the last bone in her body. This isn’t something a psychiatrist can solve; this is absolutely nothing of the sort. This is…she has no words for it, she doesn’t know to whom to turn at this time of night, but instead her mind forces her to reflect on the day she got lost. That man knew about her dreams and it wasn’t a coincidence; slowly Ealda is starting to believe there is more to her nightmares than what she had hoped.
Lying on her bed as if paralyzed from top to bottom she muses; sleep is the last thing on her mind but even if she wanted to, her eyes are too dry and her mind is too stunned to rest. If premonitions and such could happen, why did it only happen to her? Did this girl really exist in the past? Or is she going to exist in the future? If only Ealda knew her name…And what about this man? Is he here to help her or to kill her, just like the girl was haunted down in her dreams? In any case she knew she couldn’t lie around on her back anymore, something needed to be done and the only way to do that is to go to the source that could tell her more about it…

***

This is the first day Ealda has ever skipped school; it’s not for her. She hates it when those mindless adolescents think they’re cool to miss the one thing that can help them in the future; but Ealda has to prioritize and this time her sanity comes before her intelligence. She retraced her steps from the day she saw the man for the first time, this was difficult seeing as on that day she wasn’t thinking about where she was headed. Finally she saw a familiar sign; the bakery. She didn’t know what to do actually, just stand there she thought. If he was following her then it was only a matter of time he would notice she was waiting for someone; hopefully he’ll get the picture and come out.
Time went by quite slowly and to Ealda’s amazement she stood there for at least three-quarters of an hour. She began to give up when in the far she saw a silhouette appear; rays of sunlight reflecting off the figure as they do from cars when it’s extremely hot. He had a smirk on his face as he stood in front of her, knowing what she wanted.
”You finally came to your senses then?”
”I wouldn’t exactly say that.” Ealda retorted
”Follow me…” He guided her to an alley; a cliché place to be, she thought, but didn’t ask any questions. He started mumbling to himself, strange words, some Ealda couldn’t understand but others sounded much like Latin. A few minutes later, the area ahead of them turned to a blur, like a surface made of water, but when Ealda turned around everything looked quite the same. She was perplexed, she couldn’t understand what was happening and she could feel fear taking over her body as the man kept mumbling the incoherent words. After what seemed like 10 minutes, the blurriness of the alleyway was a haze; nothing else was visible except the shaded wall in front of them and finally he spoke to her.
“Come, we don’t have much time.” Ealda hesitated, could she trust him? Where are they going? She looked back at the streets and gave a great sigh; this was the only way it seemed to her that she could rid herself of the horrific nightmares, so she followed.
A chill came over her as she entered the porthole, much like going through a spray of cold water, without the wetness to confirm what the substance is. With her eyes still closed, she called out for the stranger; her hands stretched out, hoping he’d understand and grab her to safety.
 “Follow me.” She heard from a distance. Apprehensively she opened her eyes and found herself in a barren land, no vegetation, no sounds, no sign of life; it was all white around her, there were no skies as far as she could see, but her sight was affected by the strong fog that over took the area. He appeared in front of her;
“Are you unable to move? Be speedy and follow.” She gulped and reacted with discipline. They walked for about a kilometre when Ealda spotted what seemed like huts.
“A village.” She said out loud.
Y aran pentir; the land of the wise; those who will help you on your quest.”
“My…quest?” He glaced at her sideways, confused as to why she asked such a question in the first place.
“Why did u call for me, if you did not know what you were coming here to do?”
“I did not call you, I waited. I saw you in my dream; I figured you would know how to stop them.”
“Hebog’s Tail! Why would you want to stop them? They are a gift, one which is hard to find and you are one of the few in the land who still posseses such power!” Ealda stayed quite. “You know nothing of your quest?” She shook her head. “You do not know where we are?”
 “No.” She replied.
“Well there is much to be told, and not so much time to tell it…” As they marched on Ealda heard about the stories of Y aran Pentir, and how that was found by the first to walk the lands; The Five Wise Wizards, one of which was female and supposedly the wisest of them all. Each wizard possessed a great power that was passed on from generation to generation and it is said that only five children of this age are left with one of each power; Ealda being one of them. The deserted land they walk now is called cwm du which signifies the past events which occurred there.
“What does ‘cwm du’ mean, and what kind of past events?” Ealda asked inquisitively.
“Those fought against Demons, wizards with lost souls, witches who feed on the wicked thus becoming evil themselves, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. You mortals have made sure everything that should be feared is ridiculed…just wait for the day they come to your world; who are the fools then?! If it wasn’t for us who try and keep our world and yours safe, there would only be barren land as such.” Ealda didn’t know what to say. After an awkward silence he continued… “Cwm du means Black Hollow and I realize I have not introduced myself, I am Sythril Iphedorn, but those close to me call me Jex.
“Ealda Cane. So, Mr. Iphedorn, what is expected of me while I’m here, after all these stories I’m sure it takes more than a few sips of tea to rid me of my nightmares.”
“You are not as stupid as I thought, but you sure are foolish enough to wish to ban yourself of your gift! In any case I am not sure what is expected of you in detail, but you will need to train yourself, become aware that this is not another “dream” and improve everything there is to improve.”
 “Train myself for what?”
“The battle of time of course!”
 “Of course…”

A Good Beginning for Part Two?

Day One.

“I’m sorry Father, I have sinned.” She crossed her legs tightly and fitted her hands in between. “It has been four weeks since my last confession…” She paused, unable to continue.
“Go on my child, the Lord is not angry. He is glad you have finally come.” She took a deep breath, hoping to regain some courage, when there was a loud bang at the front of the church. Her bag dropped to the floor and as she reached to pick it up, the door of the confession booth opened, revealing part of the church entrance. A man in a navy blue suit and shinning black shoes leaned against the wall, rolling a cigarette, head down shielding her from his face. But his deep black hair reflecting the rays of the sun was enough. She slowly gathered her things and apologised to the priest for her outburst. Headed in the opposite direction, she noticed the slant of the new varnished cross in front of her. Slightly dazzled she shrugged it off, knowing there was no time to worry about such; she had to get out, fast and not only out the church, but preferably the country.

Fiddling with the keys to the apartment, she could hear the phone ring from outside. Her temperature rose, she started to tremble and she could hear herself breath. “Like a horse with asthma.” She thought to herself as the clicks and clacks of the door surprisingly penetrated her ears.
Entering the room with full speed, she halted in mid-step; flabbergasted at what she saw. Everything in the room was hovering above the ground, the chair, the lamp, the bed; even the television. Unable to react any further she collapsed where she stood; everything around her grew dim and blurry.

Day Two.
Waking up the next day was the equivilance of a hang-over. Mae had had enough, she wanted out. Back to the life she had before, where the biggest annoyance in her life was catching up with forgotten essays, clubbing Friday nights, working Saturday evenings and spending her Sundays recovering from her late nights out of the appartment; drinking and serving loads and loads of booze. She had once contemplated about quiting her job as a bar-lady, but most of her friends would kill for such a job, not to mention the interesting people you come across more than often!

[Just What Came To Mind ... Im not sure if i'll add it to the book. But I'm thinking it'll go into Part Two. What u think? NEED FEED BACK!]

Summer Love (:

My last entry was writen on July the 13th .. to think that my views on things have altered. Then, i was depressed .. i still am now, but for a different reason which still concerns the same situation.
Can't believe Im saying this, but i love him. Then, i was confused, i knew what i wanted it, but i didnt know why and if i did, i didnt accept it .. i mean why should i? The guy told me not to. Anyway, something sprung to me as i read that blog .. i noticed i said "my feelings will be different when i see u the next time" ... and man was i right. They were different, but not the way i thought they would be. Then, i thought i'd be over u...that i'd have nothing to worry about, because when i see u, i will have no feelings what so ever....i was wrong.
My feelings were much stronger, my heart burnt when i saw u and i hated you for walking on .. not knowing that you felt somewhat the same thing.
I couldn't handle it and in the middle of the movie, i called you...your voice drove me up the wall!
And then we met up.......................and then we broke up. *Making the whole meeting short* .. It was fun, we both didnt want it, but it happened anyway.
I miss you.
And like you want to too, I've got to move on.
We both have to move on.
Time to put this behind me.
Start again.
And like u said last; i still wanna be ur friend, i do.
But the chances of that happening ... =|
Lol, this was truely an experience....=}

A frightened feeling is what i had
When i saw you sitting there
We laughed, we joked, i shrugged you off
My feelings then were empty, bare.

We passed each other on the street
It was only then when our eyes met
But it did not register, i didnt notice
The way ur gaze was set

June 23rd, i wont forget it now
when you finally spoke more than three phrases
You called me back, switched numbers
Only later were there smooches

Such an unromantic word i know
But the night was vague, much too fast
Nevertheless it was hard to forget you
It still is, i can't put you in the past

We tried to move on, Lord knows
But it didnt work, we came back
I dont regret it, i never will
I know i was on the right track

You took me places, i wont forget
Spiritual levels set for us
Where nothing mattered, all was good
Even the stars routed for us

We had our fun
We laughed
We loved
And i just want to say...

The Curse Of Anne Price - Chapter Two of Part One

Chapter 2 – The Fountain of Blood

A new day and Ealda is distraught. Her eyes are red, her mouth is dry and her hair is not brushed. She walks the street as if a stranger in town, lost; both literally and mentally. Her head faces the ground, shoulders slumped and she's un aware of her surroundings.
Lightning strikes and rain starts to fall – "so cliché" she starts to think and her head lifts up to face the raindrops as they're pulled down by what we know as gravity. She starts to think about the craziest ways raindrops could fall, from left to right, from down to up…any place but the sky. Before she can finish her train of thought a deep voice starts to speak to her:
 "I would watch it if I were you, you're about to step into a puddle." Her head tilts back down and faces the being who was addressing her;
"Why would you care?" She answers with an attitude.
"Moody in the mornings I see? Or is it that strange thing women tend to have when blood oozes out of places we shouldn't talk about?" His eyebrow cocks up and his black hair falls over it as he slants his head to one side.
"Who are you? And why on EARTH are you talking to me?" She says terrified by his questions.
"Or is it your dreams? Are they haunting you? Come with me, we mustn't speak here, it's not safe."
"How do you…" She starts but hesitates, inspecting him more this time. His dressing is shabby, boots, torn dark trousers, black shirt; all covered by his long…cloak? She sighs; maybe he's just some loony stalker… "You must be out of your mind if you think I'm going anywhere with you!" She storms off, offended by his existence, taking the next bend she finds.
Parklane and the coast seems clear the only problem is, Ealda is more than a kilometer away from school! How she got herself here was unthinkable, so she decided to focus more on how she is to get herself to school. Bus? She looks at her watch only to find it has stopped ticking!
Apprehensively she walks back to the corner, eyeing any part of the street, in search for her strange stalker – no one. Like an inquisitive duck, she walks back unto the path to the nearest bus stop.

***
Hours flew by at school and Ealda didn't get into much trouble, just a few hours of detention; not that she minds – there is homework to be done! To her left sits Justin; a quiet fellow. She never understands why he has detention so much, he seems to do his homework everyday, and if he's late for class it's only because he lives so far, most of the teachers like him…she's puzzled, but leaves the confusion behind her and passes the rest of her confinement reading a book.
            Before she knows it a loud bell rings and her solitary minutes are over. She packs her bag and is just about to leave when;
"What were you in for?" A small, but masculine voice asks behind her. She turns, astonished by the tone.
"I was late." She answers after staring at him for five seconds, wondering why he was even talking to her.
He chuckles and says; "Haven't we all been there?" then stands up and puts out his hand and with a gentle smile on his face he says, "I'm Justin."
"I know who you are." She answers, "Why are you in here?"
"I don't feel like going home."
"That's a new one." Ealda chuckles too and they walk out of class together, amused by each others personalities.
"You're always out at the same time as me, strange because I hear you take fewer lessons and get away with it!"
"Yea…"He answers "My father's a rich bastard, I can get away with almost anything, but I choose not to. There's no fun. So instead I take all of my four subjects higher."
"Wow. So you were just doing homework?"
"Yea, and a little bit of doodling, just because I chose the subjects doesn't mean they always interest me."

A series of laughs and discussions followed after, but the two soon departed; each going their separate ways.

Ealda is surprised by her new acquaintance, she never knew he had so much to say and said so little of it, besides that, he was what he seemed; pretty laid back. Apparently he has numerous bothers and sisters, some half some not. He's been around places, seen things any adolescent is interested in and experienced the impossible! Unfortunately for Ealda they didn't have time to get to that, he had to pick up his brothers and sisters from school –
"all in a days work" He shouts back to Ealda as he runs towards the school doors.

She giggles but soon notices how empty the schoolyard is, no one is site, no shouts or screams, no endless spit switching – she's alone. Uncertain about why she feels scared, she strolls down the stairs, trying to calm herself down. She turns the corner and from far she sees a tall dark figure, long jacket, dark hair, torn jeans…it's the man from before. Her heart beats faster with every step she takes. She tries to think of any other way to escape the meeting of the two, but she sees no detour; she might as well just get it over with.
Just a few more steps, he's a across the street now, smiling, knowing she has nowhere to go, nowhere to hide, waiting to snatch her, kill her and dump her by the river – at least that's what Ealda imagines. Before she can cross the street someone shouts her name, she turns round in suspicion and sees Thomas – relief flows through her body and she rushes over to greet him. They hug and walk the opposite direction from the mysterious stranger – Ealda is safe. She looks back to give him a smirk of victory, but he's gone; Thomas probably scared him off, she thinks, and turns back to her best friend; loving him for showing up at the preeminent moment.

They walk together until they reach Ealda's house. She tells him about her dreams – the only person she tells – and her talk with Justin, she leaves out her stalker, she doesn't know why but she feels as though it's not the right moment – if it ever will be.

***
Night time, the worst time as far as Ealda is concerned, it could be left out of the human existence in her opinion – she can do without. But unfortunately it can't be avoided and she's been through all methods to attempt having pleasant dreams – reading a nice book, watching cartoons, listening to calming music, but it never works! Finally the moment does come, her eyelids grow heavier, her body weakens and her consciousness fades away into the dark world of what seems to be in her head.

The streets of London, 1968, they're filled with whores, drunkards, hobos; everything that roams the avenues late at night. The stench of blood, alcohol and other foul smells fill the air as Ealda's guide walks around – drained, puffing, trying to get hold of enough air so she can stop hyperventilating.
Once again Ealda can't see her guiding figure, but she knows it's a girl from previous dreams. In every dream she's had, the girl is being chased, killed or sometimes it even seems as though she's trying to get Ealda's attention - not that difficult -  or she's sending a message across. In this one it's still unclear, but Ealda has a feeling it'll get more interesting as the night goes on.
The girl settles by a fountain, her back towards the spraying water. She decides to drink some but as she turns she sees that the water is dark, not transparent, not its mistaken blue, but a dark red. She leans towards the pond to take a better look and her reflection looks back at her, but behind her lies a dark figure, much taller than her, staring at the reflection with its vindictive eyes and evil smirk. The girl slowly turns to face the unknown body, hoping it's someone with only good intensions, though that might seem impossible for she is leaning against a deep pool of blood – what good can come from a stranger behind her?
He stares her in the eyes, at first it seems as though he is unaware of the little girl In front of him, but his face turns to an angle and it appears as though he was only inspecting her. His mouth opens, on stand-by for speech, his exterior is still oblivious but his intensions surely are not.
"Little girls should not wonder around London at this time of night…it's dangerous." He says solemnly, his teeth shining in the ominous night. His cold hands settle on the girls shoulders, pushing her slightly back against the wall of the fountain of blood. He drifts closer as if to kiss her, but his eyes grow alight and everything around them becomes bright as if it were early morn' on a summers day. Then it becomes clear, his mysteriousness dyes with the darkness that roamed them before; dark lanky hair, hoary eyes, the cloak, the torn jeans, the smirk…
His head turns a slight angle as if to face Ealda now, looking deep into her thoughts, captivating her mind and movement…
"Little girls should not run away from what is to be their destiny…it is what you call… inevitable."

A ring of the alarm clock, Ealda shoots up, thinking she's late for school once more. But she is mistaken, it's still 3 a.m. the morning air has just arrived and she's shocked out of her mind. She exhales with signs of fatigue in her body and lies down on her back reflecting on what she just encountered.
"The man…the man from before" she words out, no sound coming from her mouth. She starts to think it might have been in her dream because she met him today. Her mother always said you dream about things you've talked about the days before. Maybe that counts for the people you've seen as well. And as far fetched of an idea that it is – knowing her own background of gruesome nightmares – Jocelyn would rather think of it as the brains way of thinking than of anything supernatural.
"But that is the problem, it is supernatural…" She starts to tell herself, but her logical half won't accept it, just like the previous days
.

I want to tell you something,
I've kept it in for so long,
Now my days with you are coming to an end,
And i deny ever feeling this way

But the truth stays clear,
Twas so since the previous year
Crazy enough the thought of you still lingers
In my mind, in my tears

Summer is near and you found yourself a girl,
Just like the year before when i was over looked
But we stay friends, not the best but the true
And though you don't know, i know u feel

"Don't forget me" I pray sometimes
"Think of me" when i'm not by ur side
Kiss me; the last day we're together
Something i will feel forever

i feel like making a song...

The Old Man

Perched beside the window
Looking at the frost
He sighs with dissaproval
Of the world today

He turned around,
Looked at me,
Asked why they couldn't see

'Said: "Tell me girl, are they blind? Are they hidded from what's outside?
Don't they know, it'll end? When they rainbows fall and the sky turns red,
When life itself wants to end..."

Crouched beside the fire,
Sulking on his own,
Still annoyed by the human rase,
contemplating all

Then he turned around
Looked at me
Asked why the could not see

'Said: "Tell me girl, are they blind? Are they hidded from what's outside?
Don't they know, it'll end? When they rainbows fall and the sky turns red,
When life itself wants to end..."

Tell me why....

'Said tell me why....[tell me why]
Tell me why....[said tell me why]

'Said: "Tell me girl, are they blind? Are they hidded from what's outside?
Don't they know, it'll end? When they rainbows fall and the sky turns red,
When life itself wants to end..."

Tell me why....

Chapter One ^^ of Part One

The Curse of Anne Price

Prologue

"The twins were asleep and mother was supposedly in the bathtub when it happened or when it was to happen. It is vague, I don't remember." I told them…

"I am in my room, making a skirt for Xandra when I notice it is too quiet. Apprehensively I walk towards the bedroom that belonged to Xandra and Zane. The door creeks open, and a light from the upper window falls unto their faces – they are asleep. Next are mother and father's bedroom, Dad's not in bed – not to my surprise, the man is probably stacking up in the pub. I tip-toe to the bathroom where I hear the leak of the water from the tap to the tub, *tip*, *tip*, it goes. My ear to the door, nothing is heard. Slowly I push the door open and with the same speed my head pops round the open creek. My eyes scan the floor, the walls, the mirror but finally the tub. My heart jumps to my throat as I try to understand what is before me. The door is wide open now, I am on my knees and still ahead of me is the tub. The tub that is filled with…with the most gruesome picture a girl of my age could ever imagine, a tub garmented with the insides of a woman…with the insides of my mother. Her body hung from the shower head, with her blood dripping from the open wounds all around her body."

They will not believe me, how can they.

"Ms. Price, are you telling us that you can see the future? The future that is now the past? The past that was your future? Are you telling us you saw the death of your mother?"

"Yes". I answer. What is the use of going into detail? They will not believe even if they wanted to.

"Right." The detective retorted in disbelief.

"I do not expect you to believe me officer. I just plead for your aid. Find the killer at least, so my mother's soul can rest in peace."

"Where is your father Mrs. Price?"
"Where were you before it happened?"
"How are we to know you did not do it Mrs. Price?"

"Where?"
"How?"
"When?"

Their questions spun my head, I could not follow, I could not answer, I did not know!

My name is Anne Price and my story is yet to be unraveled.

Chapter 1 - Nightmares

Ealda Cane.

A fifteen year old girl with curly brown hair and maroon eyes. A smart one, the brightest in her year. Full marks every new semester, she has limited friends and she prioritizes most of her life. She's Slumped against a tree, head buried in her novel not worried about the rest of the world – they mean nothing to her. Calmly she flips the page and takes those few seconds to scan her surroundings.  School. A place where she comes to learn nothing more, nothing less. She chuckles at the site of children who play and couples kissing on the grass – the first people to die when the apocalypse arrives in her view. Not that she believes in such, she just loves the story behind it. Her head tilts back to the book but she doesn't read, she can't help but imagine what it would be like without those irritating shouts and screams around her head, without those 'I love you' s and 'miss you' s around the corner – it would be her paradise, but take no notice...

Disgusted but amused by her own thoughts she stands up and decides to look for some familiar faces. She picks up her bag and buries the book within its content. When she stands up, her sweater is slumped down and her baggy jeans recover their unknown fit. She walks passed the big school doors, into the long hall decorated with old faces, paintings, sculptures, you name it…it is most probably found there.
It's pretty quiet in the hallway, everybody's outside enjoying the sun. Solemnly she strolls to her locker and picks out her school books. Five seconds later she feels a cold hand on her shoulder. Reflexively she turns round only to find Thomas there, her best friend since 5 years ago. He looks dazed as if he saw a ghoul of some sort, the conversation begins:
 "What happened to you?"
"I just saw Nancy Helton take her shirt off, first cleavage I've seen since Jessica."
Ealda smiles, but can't help but feel sorry for the lad. He's been torn and tattered by his ex. But he still loves her, though the break up was near to a year ago. He deserves better…
"I'm sure there's better cleavage out there than Jessica and Nancy put together." She tries to reassure him.
"Yea…" He trails off. They walk off together, towards the setting sun, finally they get to go home.

"Goodnight!" Ealda shouts from up the stairs. She's tired, she's bathed and has no patience for long walks down the stairs for nighttime farewells.
She's worried. It's night which could only mean she has to return. Return back to that dark place, where everything is fiction but feels so real, where the people scream, cry and bleed. Where she gets cut and it hurts as if she was in there, being that girl. The girl she doesn't know the name of. The girl who's face she can barely see, but can hear. The horrors she finds herself in from time to time, not able to unravel the questions but relive them night after night after night!
She reads a book. A fairytale, one to calm her down. One that'll hopefully give her good dreams or at least put some happiness in the one she is going to have. They're inevitable these dreams. She hasn't told anybody but Thomas. He thinks she should tell her mum or go to a psychiatrists, but she hates being questioned and watched; she likes her space. It's happening. She's drifting away. Her eyes are weak, and she feels the dark take over her. No consciousness. She's gone.

She's running up an alley way, away from the two men behind her that are screaming her name. She's panting, trying to catch any ounce of oxygen that passes her way. It's more difficult than it sounds. She cuts the corner, thinking she might of lost them. But she's wrong. It's a dead end, only a door lies open. Her chances are thin so she runs for the door. A storage room. She hears loud music coming from the inside. Shouts and screams – but those of joy. Slowly she opens the door, hoping she'll find people that can help her. Still scanning, she sees two bodyguards – there must be a concert. She runs towards the men, trying to speak out words, but they stay in her throat. Finally she's at their feet, bent over trying to catch her breath.
"Thank God." She says , "Please, you must help me. Those…those men are after me. They won't believe me, they want to…they want to send me away, drug me, maybe even kill me. Please sirs I need your help." They don't answer, they seem to be in a trance. He snaps her fingers trying to grab their attention, but they stay focused on the music. She follows their gaze and finds 5 people on stage, playing their hearts out; a singer, a bassist, two guitarist and a drummer. The crowd is going wild, jumping, pushing, screaming… Suddenly the girl finds the two men behind her, they pull her towards the exit and drag her out of the building. One of them gets out a knife and starts stabbing her…one…two…three…her face, her arms, her legs, all stabbed at. She then sees that they aim for her eyes…she winces, tries to break free, she sees the blade of the knife sparkle and her heart sinks…here it comes, the most painful and sick…the eyes…

A big gasp from Ealda's mouth. She's out. She's awake. She cries.
